As with Gumax® verandas, Gumax® sun shading is available with profile colours matt anthracite (RAL 7016), matt white (RAL 9016) and matt black (RAL 9005). This way, your sun shading matches your Gumax® veranda perfectly. The sun shading screen comes in a white colour with silver glow. It blocks bright sun rays, but does not create a blackout under your veranda.

Unlike traditional canvas sun shading screens, Gumax® automatic sun shading not only creates shade, but also effectively reflects heat radiation. This is thanks to the revolutionary sun shading screen made of plastic with woven aluminium threads. As a result, Gumax® sun shading reflect 73% of visible light and as much as 89% of heat radiation.
Effect under glass and polycarbonate
Gumax® sun shading is effective under verandas with glass roofs as well as polycarbonate roof types. The chart below shows the temperature differences between verandas with Gumax® sun shading and without sun shading. This calculation was done in a situation with increasing and decreasing solar radiation during the day and is the temperature as measured just below the roof. This calculation* was carried out under the following fictitious circumstances:
- Terrace tiles retain a lot of heat;
- Sunny day with no cloud cover;
- The outside temperature is 30 degrees during the hottest part of the day;
- The veranda is enclosed on both sides and open at the front;
- There is little wind.
The lines in the charts show the different Tuinmaximaal roof types : a glass roof and a opal polycarbonate roof. For all roof types, a significant temperature difference applies when Gumax® sun shading is used, with the effect of sun shading combined with a glass roof ultimately being the greatest. * No rights can be derived from this calculation. Because every situation is different, the calculation has been carried out in a fictitious situation. There are many factors that ultimately affect the temperature under your veranda.
Tuinmaximaal advises you to always open any glass sliding doors on warm and sunny days and lower the sun shading. This way, warm air can leave the space.
Gumax® automatic sun shading is mounted under the veranda and between the roof beams. As a result, the sun shading screen is not subject to external weather influences and dirt. Combined with the compact storage of the screen, this makes Gumax® sun shading very easy to maintain. Underdeck sun shading often has the disadvantage of keeping heat under the veranda. Thanks to the unique sun shading screen that reflects heat radiation at the top, Gumax® sun shading counteracts this. As a result, the temperature under your veranda is significantly lower than with standard verandas with a canvas screen.
Thanks to Gumax® sun shading, you can close off the top of the veranda with a sun shading screen according to your wishes, thus creating more shade under the veranda. There are also very good options for sun shading at the front and/or side(s) of the veranda. Gumax® Shading Panels are panels with slats that you easily mount and slide in the convenient rail system. The unique Rhombus design of the slats is also water-repellent. This will ensure the right amount of shade and shelter at any time and allows you to enjoy your veranda even longer.
Gumax® automatic sun shading is easily operated with the remote control supplied. The electric motors of the sun shading strips can be controlled both collectively and individually. This is possible up to as many as 16 individual lanes. You can also stop the sun shading at any position. This allows you to create shade in the desired areas under your veranda.
