A freestanding Heavy Duty veranda for Margriet and Roland
On Saturday 23 May 2026, Tuinmaximaal was featured on De Grote Tuinverbouwing (The Great Garden Makeover) on SBS6, a popular Dutch television programme where a team of experts transforms outdated gardens into beautiful outdoor spaces. Each episode combines interior design with garden architecture and high-quality outdoor products. In this broadcast, Margriet and Roland's garden in Bergambacht was completely overhauled. After years of putting it off, they finally tackled both their garden and interior. Inside, Djamilla created a bright and tranquil atmosphere with soft colours and organic shapes. Outside, Ivo and his team built a green, playful garden, featuring a freestanding garden room at the back where they can enjoy the outdoors all year round. The wish: an outdoor space for the whole family
Margriet and Roland wanted a garden that truly works for their family. A place to relax, but also with space for the children to play. The solution at the back of the garden had to offer shelter while radiating openness at the same time. A freestanding veranda as a garden room fit that wish perfectly.
Open yet sheltered
The aluminium sidewalls provide shelter and privacy at the sides and the back of the garden room. With the glass sliding doors, they can easily close off the space for shelter as well as an open feel. The Gumax® Shading Panel, with a frame in matt anthracite and slats in matt grey beige, provides extra shade and completes the look. The slats give the garden room a warm, atmospheric appearance.
Shade in the right place
The Gumax® automatic sun shading regulates the temperature on warm days. Thanks to the reflective fabric, it effectively blocks heat radiation. They can control each lane individually using the remote control, allowing them to create shade exactly where they want it.
The perfect atmosphere, even in the evening

Using the remote control, they can easily set the desired atmosphere: their favourite colour, light intensity, and the option to save lighting scenes.
