A good, level foundation is necessary when installing our glass sliding doors to prevent subsidence. If this proves difficult with your garden, you can choose to install foundation columns. Foundation columns provide a strong, level surface on which to place the bottom rail for the glass sliding doors. The substrate should be able to withstand about 390kg per linear metre without subsiding. When ordering the foundation column, pay close attention to what width rails your glass sliding doors will have. This foundation column for the 5-rail system is approximately 106mm wide, 55mm high and 4900mm long.
